This chapter introduces the Scottish Smallpipes,
how to put them on and tune them. A total beginner might wish
to try the initial
chapters on a practise chanter (Highland Pipers use them and
are relatively cheap). The benefit of this is that you can concentrate
on the fingering and rhythm without the worry of keeping the
bag
inflated and the bellows etc. If you do this you’ll probably
want to return to this chapter later on, but have a listen anyway!
